Applied Kinesiology

What is Applied Kinesiology?

According to the International College of Applied Kinesiology, it can be defined as “a system that evaluates structural, chemical and mental aspects of health using manual muscle testing combined with other standard methods of diagnosis”.  Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a non-invasive way of evaluating how your body is functioning.  Treatments involve chiropractic adjustments, myofascial therapies, supplementation, dietary management, and evaluating environmental irritants.

What is the Triad of Health?

The triad involves your chemical, structural, and mental health.  All health issues, whether functional or pathological, involve either one or all aspects of the triad of health.  Applied Kinesiology helps decipher which of these areas need support.

What conditions can we help with?

All of them! When your body starts to work optimally, an extraordinary number of issues start to resolve on their own.  However, the most common ailments we help treat include fatigue, joint pain, neck/back pain, headaches, digestive complaints (acid reflux, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, pain, etc.), hormone imbalances, thyroid issues, anxiety, depression, skin ailments, allergies, and weight loss. Dr. Laryssa also has experience treating mold toxicity, tickborne infections, yeast/candida overgrowth, parasites, bacterial and viral (acute & chronic) infections, heavy metal/chemical toxicities, and food intolerances.

Who can we help?

Everyone! We have experience treating infants, elderly, and everyone in-between.

What can you expect on the first visit?

The first visit itself will average 1.5 hours in duration.  Over 40+ different muscles throughout your entire body will be assessed and will help aid in the diagnosis and treatment.  It will be determined whether lifestyle/diet changes need to happen, supplementation need to be added, or chiropractic adjustments need to be delivered. With information found throughout the examination, you can expect to leave with answers and hope.

What can you expect on follow-up visits?

Follow up visits average 30 minutes in duration.  We assess all the same 40+ muscles.  With the information we find in the most recent examination, we will then determine whether we are continuing a similar treatment path or if we need to change course.  We will always take a hands-on approach and walk alongside you on your journey back to health and wellness.
